I had the pleasure of having Roger Thurman as a sales representative when I purchased by first BMW 328i sedan, the "ultimate driving machine." I had been referred to Roger though Costco's purchasing program that made the process less intimidating than it otherwise might be. Roger's quick response, congeniality, professionalism and attention to detail made the process absolutely flawless.
I had checked out the engine specs: 2.0 liter dual overhead, 16-valve, 240 horsepower inline -cylinder engine) with excellent mileage for a sporty sedan, so Roger didn't have to have to sell me the engine! BMW does a great job of that. But Roger did a great job of selling me the driving experience. He took me for a spin and showed up all the fantastic features of this car. It is not exaggerated that the feel of this car can only be described in sensual terms: it is voluptuous! You'll know after either riding or driving this car and become a lifetime convert.
The next part was the fittings: I insisted on the imperial blue with ivory interior. Roger was able to find this very care sitting in the port in Germany. He sealed the deal and kept me informed of the progress. He was also able to predict the exact delivery date.
All in all a very pleasurable experience. Hats off also to Gary Wheeler for the tutorial and Paul Carruba the sales manager. Roger is the best!!

It's easy to write a recommendation when everything goes perfect; I think a recommendation when everything doesn't is far more meaningful.
I've been buying new and used cars for 35 years. I can honestly say that this is the first time I've felt a verbal recommendation was deserved much less a written one. In this case both Roger and the team at Fremont BMW deserve acknowledgment.
I purchased a used Z4 from Rodger at Fremont BMW. The car ran great but the engine light would come on periodically. Typically after the sale you never hear from the person who sold you the car, especially if there's a problem, but Roger didn't run and hide he wanted to see the issue through resolution. The issue went on for a while but every time BMW worked on my Z4, I was given a newer year model to drive.
Now comes the amazing part. After several attempts to resolve the issue BMW actually bought the car back, I got back practically every dime I had put into the car, including the registration costs.
Now you would think I'd be through with BMW's but the opposite is true. Everyone knows BMW makes great cars but at the end of the day it's more about the people and the service
It's amazing that customer loyalty can sometimes actually start with a problem well resolved. So I bought a 2011 328I from Roger and the folks at Fremont BMW without a second thought.
When it's time for another car, I'll call Roger and Fremont BMW.

It was the most pleasant experience ever! Never thought buying a car would be so fast, simple and hassle free. Roger Thurman is a trooper! I talked wih him on the phone first. He was very prompt in responding and doing his best to meet all of my car needs and requirements in terms of features, color and price. After that I walked into the dealership. Everything was ready to go. It was as simple as a drive-thru experience/ He made sure I get a VIP treatment :) Highly recommend him!

After being pushed away by another Dealership i drove all the way from San Jose to Fremont BMW. I arrived at Fremont BMW 1hr after they had closed, with Roger to stay and help me thru the inventory. The next day we went back to Fremont BMW from Gilroy CA. where we live to talk directly to Roger Thurman about what car(s) we wanted to check out and test drive.
Roger displayed a high degree of integrity, customer service, and care in what he does for his customers. He is definitely a Sales Associate I wish I had met thru the different dealers in the past. In addition to his excellent customer service, he has proven his dedication to customer service, knowledge and made sure my wife and I were happy in our decision. We spent almost 7 hrs with Roger driving different cars and going over the different costs associated with each car. Not once did it seem we were a bother or we were taking our time.
He worked with great dignity and no pressure in buying something we didn't want. Making the deal as easy as it could ever be and treated us like we were repeat customers.. This was our first BMW purchase, which we were shocked by the great customer service. On our next future purchase I hope Roger is available to help us again with his great attitude and exceptional customer service.

We bought an X3 from Roger last month. Roger knows the features of the BMW line very well and spent a lot of time with us going through them. He is very down to earth, easy to deal with, and provided excellent after sale follow-up.
We bought our BMW through the Costco Auto Program. Roger presented the Costco pricing in a straightforward manner with none of the usual sales gimmicks that we have come to expect when buying a car.

Roger made my first car buying experience a wonderful one. He was very helpful in every step of the way. I had other car brands in mind, but it was really Roger's great customer service that pushed me to buy a BMW. They didn't have the car with the exterior and interior colors that I was looking for, but Roger informed me that he would be able to order it, and we did. Roger kept me updated through the whole production process without me even asking. I would sign onto my email and then there was a note from him! It was very comforting to feel that I was in the loop. I'm truly grateful to have such a good experience with Roger and definitely would recommend him to anyone.

If you are looking for a great BMW automobile salesman, just ask for Roger Thurman @ BMW of Fremont.
Very friendly, no pressure.
I told him what I was looking for and he said, "I think I have exactly what you are looking for." He was exactly right.
He escorted me through the whole process, making it the best experience I have ever encountered at any dealership. Don't take this comment lightly. I have purchased 87 motor vehicles in the past 50 years and have experienced just about any kind of treatment you can imagine. The worst was in Covina, California, when I purchased a new car. I had just turned 21 and they sold me a new car, even though I had not established any credit yet. They were very friendly and said, "Don't worry Jim. If we can't get financing for you, you can just bring the car back, no questions asked." The next day they called and said, "Jim, you are going to need some equity or a co-signer with good credit." I told them I couldn't do either. They said, "Ok. Just bring the car back." When I arrived and gave them the keys to the new car and I asked for the keys to the car that I had traded in the previous day, they said, "Sorry Jim, but you signed your car over to us, but we will sell it back to you for $500.00" This was in 1966, I was going to college, working part time, making $1.25/hr and I didn't have the money. Having just turned 21, I was pretty uneducated in these matters, so I had never bothered to read the fine print. I had to call my brother-in-law to come and pick me up. When he arrived, he said, "You are going to get your car back. Just hang on." He was 6'3" tall and was a boxer, as well as the service manager for the Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in Covina. A couple minutes later he came out with the keys to my car and the salesman had put my car in the driveway for me. I said, "Mel, what did you say to them." He said, "I asked them if they were an authorized dealer for VW and if they weren't (He didn't see any VW signs on the lot.), he said he would be calling the police to investigate their dealership's practices, if they didn't give me my car back. He knew that they were not an authorized VW dealer and were just selling Beatles that they had purchased new, in Germany and shipped them to their lot. The windshields were also not legal and the speedometer only had KPH written on them and when it said 60 KPH, you were actually only going about 40 MPH. They didn't make him call the police. I got my car back, but the right rear fender had a big dent in it, that it didn't have in it the day before. Live and learn. They could not legally sell these cars as new cars, but the contract said it was a new car. I learned fast. I was wondering why they were selling these new Beatles for $700.00 less than the authorized VW dealer. Now, I knew why.

My wife and I had a very pleasant experience when we purchased our BMW 335i convertible. The reason for the pleasant experience is Roger Thurman. I appreciate his low-pressure sales tactic along with his ability to listen, understand what the customer wants, and to take the effort to make it happen with little pressure or anxiety. It was obvious Roger knows the auto sales industry and makes it transparent to the customer. He also adjusted his schedule to accommodate ours and we purchased just the car we wanted. Additionally, he followed up to ensure we were happy with the car and routinely stays in contact to make sure we continue to be happy with our purchase. My husband and I purchased our 335i convertible BMW in September 2009. We had a wonderful experience with Roger. What impressed us most about Roger was he was courteous, efficient and extremely thorough. He always got back to us quickly when we had questions.
