It was early in 2021 that we decided to sell our house in Oregon and move to Lake Tahoe. It sold quickly so we leased a place for 6 months and started our search in June last year. My husband and I owned a lake front home in Tahoe for three years. We loved living on the lake but decided we wanted to find another home on the lake that met more of our needs, including being permitted for one or two buoys.
The Tahoe housing market, especially for lake front homes is crazy due to high demand and very limited availability. But it was especially crazy last summer due to the ramifications of Covid and the new ability for many to live where they want and to work remotely.
Furthermore, we wanted a home that was updated, newly remodeled and turn key with furniture if possible. With such a small pool of homes available at any given time, and considering our wish list, we knew if could be a long waiting game and take lots of luck!
Jean found what she thought might be the perfect fit. She said this won't last long and to get up to Tahoe asap if possible. We were in the car driving to Tahoe within hours and together locked down the deal to the satisfaction of all parties.
