The real estate market for buyers in Northern California (Bay Area) is crazy. It is even worse for out of state buyers as my wife and I discovered. There is very low inventory, inflated prices, cash flush foreign investors, and Silicon Valley big name company incentives for their employees all competing against you. My wife and I bid on several homes at $100K over asking price and still could not win a bid. So how does one even stand a chance to get a home in this environment...? The answer is to find an agent who is a long term career real estate agent, knows the area, and most importantly, knows how to package the deal. We worked with Rob Ellis exclusively and so should you if you want to have a fighting chance in this market. Rob takes the transaction to a level most people don't realize exists or underestimate. It is not just about making a strong offer. It is how the offer is structured and presented to the sellers. What I can tell you is this. Rob got us into a great house. In our transaction there were 9 strong offers and 5 of them were cash buyers! The sellers chose to work with Rob due to his level of professionalism, his communications, his reputation, integrity....and charm. Rob reached out to the listing agent and the sellers and made sure they knew who he was and who we were as buyers. He presented our package in a way that convinced the sellers to work with us over cash buyers! Save yourself a lot of time and just work with Rob. He wont let you down and he will keep you positive through a very crazy roller coaster of emotions inherent in this market.
