Mark grew up in San Francisco and has called Oakland home since 1998. During that time he has seen many exciting changes to Oakland’s diverse neighborhoods. From the vibrant food scene in Uptown, to the revitalization of the Temescal area, and the conversion of former industrial spaces into luxury lofts in Jack London Square.

My wife and I were looking to purchase our first home, and were dead set on finding a modern home (initially an Eichler) and wanted to ensure we could find a realtor that knew their stuff. We stumbled upon Mark via eichlerforsale.com and found him a great fit for what we were looking for.

What we discovered quickly wasn't what we expected...

Mark, first and foremost is an amazing realtor;
He helped us navigate the wealth of information each home we were interested in had to offer, scheduled walkthroughs with us and identified things to look out for, and ultimately connected us with an amazing lender recommendation (JVM Lending) and guided us through making our first offer.

But what really made Mark shine through this process is that he was an incredible empath - he went above and beyond and provided support and guidance for the barrage of emotions that I didn't expect as we inched towards closing. He even once picked me up to go see a house we were interested in when I didn't have my car.

One offer, one counter-offer, and a million signatures later - we are now first-time homeowners!

This was our first time selling a home, and we were nervous. Mark was so supportive and easy to work with. He made the process as stress-free as it could be, talking through timelines and realistic costs, and connecting us to quality service people (painter, floor repairs, staging) along the way to get the house ready for sale. He's knowledgeable, patient, and responsive. The process was very quick. He got our house on the market within 2-3 weeks, and then sold after the first weekend of open houses. We just purchased a house in Oakland with the help and guidance from Mark. It's not the first time I've gone through this process but it was definitely my best experience. Mark is knowledgeable, responsive, communicative and a complete professional. He's also a very nice trustworthy person which made the experience even better. Mark picked up the phone every time I called, responded to my texts within minutes and even went over to the house the same day I asked him about it to do a virtual tour since I was remote. During the walkthrough he pointed out things to note and offered resources for further inspection. On the day of closing he drove me to Target since I didn't have a car and helped me get some items that I needed. I had followed Mark's market condition and property listings for quite awhile so I was confident that he was very knowledgeable about the market when it came time for us to sell one of our properties. He was our first choice.

We found Mark to be incredibly professional and personable. Mark is just great at what he does. I met with Mark and decided to sell my condo back in Feb of 2020, right before COVID hit and shut everything down. He and I stayed in frequent contact while we waited for restrictions to lift so we could start doing showings. Throughout this time he was highly communicative and thought of creative ways to start gaining traction online, since we couldn't do anything in person. As soon as it was possible to do showings again he was ready. Neither of us had any idea how this market was going to perform (nobody did!) but he was confident and reassuring the whole time. Additionally, he was able to line up multiple buyers and I was only on the market for 12 days. Selling is always stressful but given the state of the world at this time I think it was a bit extra. Mark's just extremely professional and a great communicator. He's also highly effective. Really can't recommend him enough.

My wife and I chose Mark as our listing agent, to help us renovate and sell our one-bedroom condo in the Piedmont Ave neighborhood of Oakland, and I don't think we could have made a better choice.

Mark went above and beyond time and time again, and our condo sold for a lot more than were expecting, even amid the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We'd moved to Santa Cruz, so I knew we'd need someone who would manage as much of the process as possible, so I could be mostly hands-off, and wouldn't have to drive back and forth all the time.

Mark assured me he could deliver. And boy, did he ever! He ran the whole show, keeping me updated with regular emails, and all I had to do was approve high-level plans and send payments.

The renovations--new flooring, popcorn ceiling removal, new kitchen counters and cupboards, new bathroom vanity, and more!--turned out beautifully. To top it off, for the showings, the staging company Mark chose filled the condo with elegant midcentury modern furniture.

Just to give you a sense of the Mark's attention to quality, he even had a photographer take aerial drone photos for the listing. It came out looking AMAZING. We even joked about wanting to move back in because he made it look so good.

Joining in with my own rave review of Mark's services, from the seller's perspective. I had been thinking of selling for several months, but needed to find a place to move to first. Found a rental I loved in early October, contacted Mark on the recommendation of my neighbors, moved on Oct. 25 and had the condo on the market by Nov. 7, including painting, updating and repairing light fixtures and a few other things, and staging. Mark made it all happen! Offers were in before Thanksgiving, and closed before Christmas! I never imagined it would go so well. Mark really knows his stuff, makes great recommendations, does a lot of the coordination with contractors and deliveries, and makes decisions easy. He was very patient and walked me through a pretty stressful experience (having never sold a home before) and was easygoing throughout the whole process.

...A few years later, I am obligated to write a new rave review as an update.

As much as we loved our home, a new work opportunity came up for us and we jumped at it, reaching out to Mark as soon as we found out we needed to move.

We were both pretty bad at redecorating or doing anything handy around the house. We wanted a move-in ready house and that just what we got! Very grateful for it too, because who has time and energy to fix up a house after unpacking? So, it was time for us to fix up our home, and Mark saw to that right away. Within a month, Mark helped and led us through dolling up our house--pointing out critical items that we needed to fix, replace, or have done differently. Everything from choosing colors to meeting with vendors, he was there for. I don't know how we could have done it without his help and insight on what homebuyers were looking for in the market. Not to mention his helpful redecorating tips--could have used that earlier in our homeowner life :)

Mark's thoughtfulness and thoroughness, not to mention quick decision-making skills made him such an asset to us when trying to figure out how to sell our home and to whom!

I don't know if we expected to sell our home so fast, but it sold much faster than we could even imagine. And to such a great couple too, which was important to us because our HOA was such a nice community to be part of that we wanted to ensure that our neighbors felt comfortable with the next owner.
