I was looking at a couple lenders/loan brokers to try to get the best deal. Kathy was the one who was always available, the most knowledgeable, and got me the best deal with only 5% down. She knows a lot about the business and can even help talk you off the ledge when you're freaking out about how much money you're about to spend. I would recommend Kathy to my friends looking to purchase property in the Bay Area.

Kathy helped us with a condo purchase in the Castro. In this crazy market, you need to be competitive. Kathy did an awesome job the whole way. She is adept at handling all the "crazy" stuff that banks ask for throughout the process, explaining why they need it and reassuring us that everything was going to work out. It also seems like she works every minute of the day and night. She was always available and turned the submitted documents immediately. I don't think we would have been successful without her. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

Kathy is a wonderful lender. She is efficient, organized, and gets the job done. She communicates well and explain every steps of the complicated loan process. At some point, we were frustrated about the process, but she helped us understand the importance of each steps. She is a very hard worker, doesn't matter if it is 9 a.m. or 10 p.m. she will reply our calls / E-mails. There were numerous instances where she initiated conference calls with our broker, the seller's broker and us regarding financing contingencies. As first time home buyers looking for a home in San Francisco, my fiance and I had no idea where to begin. We were not even sure if it was possible for us to find a home given our budget. Thankfully, our Realtor put us in touch with Kathy. This was the best recommendation we could have possibly been given.
Even though we had a tight budget and small down payment, Kathy found a way to get us pre-approved! Once we found the home we wanted, she quickly jumped into action to get us into contract. We had a very small window to close on the house and she was able to make it happen. She is one of the major reasons we have our home today.

We bought a house in San Francisco in August 2014 and used Kathy Chang as our mortgage consultant. I must say we are very pleased with her performance in many respects.
We have very complex financial situation with multiple properties. Further, the mortgage was more complex because my son with limited income was also on the mortgage. The mortgage had to be closed in a very few days and thus real estate agents were very nervous. On that, Kathy convinced the real estate agents that we are financially sound and getting mortgage is not an issue at all. This may be one of reasons our house purchase offer was accepted to start with. We had very nerve racking three weeks during document collection period but in the end we got exactly that we expected.

I first worked with Kathy on a short sell property. Although the seller's bank took 6 months to complete the transaction, Kathy worked patiently with me through out the transaction and it was a pretty smooth transaction.
Naturally when I bought my second property I choose to work with Kathy again. This time we had a tight schedule and I ran into some problem with my funding. This is when I realized how important it is to work with an good mortgage broker. Kathy has gone above and beyond to help me resolved my funding issue, although it was a stressful transaction, I am glad Kathy was there all the way to guide me through all the nitty gritty details.
This years our TIC was going through Condo Conversion. Once again we turned to Kathy for our financing need. Kathy was alway proactive, very detail oriented. Kathy helped all 3 of our units to get the best refinance deals on our newly formed condo. Again there were some bumps along the way but she was always on top of it.
