I've been slacking off with this review. The day we bought this 2017 Toyota Tundra crew cab, we ended up driving to North Dakota for a family fishing trip! As I'm sitting here in my comfortable truck, we are actually on our way to North Dakota once again! We're one spontaneous and fun family of 5 in which our personality definitely goes well with this truck! Gary is awesome! So great to work with. I had about a week and a half or so to buy this truck before our fishing trip. I've shopped around and almost bought one on the east side of Madison. I had given them my business just the year before and I thought that they would put that into consideration and take care of me. I met with my east side sales rep who tried to accommodate me and his boss, Nathan Riesen. My sales rep was good and did his job. The internet sales manager however, was quite rude. I told him that Smart Toyota quoted me a better pricing for a truck that has all the features we were looking for. I understood that Nathan already had one on hand, but it just didn't fit our whole vision. He insisted that he had already given me the best price there is and said point blank to my face that if I wanted to "play this car salesman game, "let's play". He then unprofessionally slammed both his hands onto the table in front of myself, my husband and 10 year old child! As a person with management background, I was embarrassed by his actions. He showed his guests/customers that he couldn't control his anger and that he was probably better than everyone else. You better believe that I walked out shortly after. His actions were uncalled for. We didn't deserve that! Thank God, my husband and I drove separately. When my husband got home, he said that Nathan eventually honored Smart Toyota's price. But Nathan also told my husband that the truck we wanted will have to be customized and will probably not be available until July. Wow. My first thought was, who's playing this car salesman game? The next morning I texted Gary that I was ready to sign if he is able to guarantee me my truck. While on the east side, we were told that Smart had "lied" to us because in the Toyota system/site it showed nothing on hand for the truck we wanted. Needless to say, our truck was on ground as we signed our papers that morning. It was pretty funny. Gary was great because I literally gave him 6 days to have the truck on hand. Everything from the exterior to the interior was exactly what my husband and I wanted. Why settle for less when you're paying so much for it! And so, 6 days later we picked up our brand new truck and drove out of the lot of Smart Toyota. Didn't have to wait till July. And oh, general sales manager, TJ Johnson was great as well. Addressed all of our concerns and was willing to find a leeway to accommodate us. Both were very professional, humble and personable! Smart Toyota has proven to me that anything is possible! They definitely gained my loyalty. Thanks Gary for your patience and non-pushing car salesman skills, made the game that much easier!
