Areas of improvement could be organization and attention to detail, as we would often have to proofread contracts for spelling/wording areas and do things last minute. We met Anthony when we were at an open house. We were not serious about buying at the time. When we finally decided to buy, we went with some recommendations who were absolutely clueless. We fired them and then remembered Anthony from the open house. He answered our questions in a meaningful way, not typical pat answers. I met Anthony at an open house in Alameda shortly after I relocated to the area. He struck me as a cut above other realtors in terms of his knowledge of and genuine enthusiasm for the property he was selling.

Fast forward more than a year later. It was a seller’s market and bidding wars were pushing buyers to make offers significantly over list, some with all cash and no contingencies. After being outbid on a home and feeling inadequately represented by our realtors in terms of getting clear advice, we decided to reevaluate our representation. Most of the realtors we contacted gave us a typical, empty sales pitch that focused on what they had done, rather than what they could do for us. In contrast, Anthony took the time to put together a written analysis of the sales in the neighborhood and estimated the going rate for a home we were interested in bidding on. He met us in person to discuss it, answered all of our questions, and showed us he was willing to earn our business.

Anthony helped us put together a much more thorough offer than our prior offers for a short sale in our neighborhood. Thanks to some creative addendums and some major persistence on Anthony's part, our offer was selected at a price below our personal cap. Because there were multiple lenders involved, the process took several months for the banks to approve. But Anthony kept on top of things the entire time and stayed in close contact. Anthony is a great agent and I highly recommend him. My wife and I bought a home on Bay Farm island and the process went very smoothly, even though it was a short sale! We moved from LA and bought in Alameda because of the great schools and proximity to SF and Oakland. Anthony did a great job of teaching us the micro-neighborhoods and found a really great area for us.

First, you should go to Anthony because of his local knowledge of Alameda, although I'm sure he knows other parts of the Bay Area as well. It was really important to me that we used an agent who understood the differences of each little neighborhood -- architecture, people, prices, schools, etc. He was kind enough to take us to each neighborhood in Alameda and I'm not talking about just driving through in a car. It meant walking the streets, hanging out in restaurants and looking at houses that previously sold over the last couple years.

Second, Anthony is very transparent and does a good job of explaining things. My previous experience with another agent was very rushed. I really liked the way Anthony followed-up on things and never guessed. He was really fantastic about finding answers. He's got great resources at Bayside Real Estate. I really enjoyed working with a agent who keeps up with the times. I feel that other agents in Alameda are slightly out of touch.

Last, Anthony is great with communications. He's timely and articulate. I have a crazy schedule and I send emails at 6AM and 11PM. I was surprised to see that Anthony always responded to my emails within minutes anytime of day or night. I really felt that he was looking out for me and that things were moving. There was no downtime.

Anthony stepped in for our primary realtor when she had to leave the country on unavoidable family business. Anthony completely lived up to the very high expectations set by Kate McCaffrey, our primary agent, and took care of a lot of the nitty-gritty for us. He arranged several of the inspections, and also spent hours with me at same inspections, making sure I asked the right questions and got the information I needed. How should I get started?
