I enlisted Dan McLean to conduct the sale of a beautiful home in the Marina. It was a very complicated transaction, given the specific timing of the sale: market values, particularly in San Francisco, have suffered greatly since June 2022, and this home was ready to market in September 2022. The sale was further complicated by an out of area seller, the legalization of the ADU, and rising interest rates. Dan came up with a strategy to market the property to very high-end realtors, as well as directly to residents of smaller homes in the area who may need more space. The property was under contract in 10 weeks, during an extremely sluggish sales period (19 sales - including this one - in the second half of 2022, a low not seen since early Covid February 2020, and significantly lower than the 39 sales in the corresponding period in 2021). Through it all he was organized, professional and unflappable, always willing to lean in a bit more than an agent ordinarily would have given the out of area seller. He was also knowledgeable as to the complexities of renting the ADU, should the buyer have wished to pursue that option.
