I have been working with David for almost 3 years in a row now, and he’s not once been pushy or mad that I couldn’t go with him, until recently, when we were able to work on the property I currently reside at and that’s when I saw the even better side of him. Absolutely helpful, knowledgeable and being there throughout the house closing process each step of the way! He was always available to take our calls and occasionally when he was busy, he returned our calls as soon as he was able.
We closed within 3 weeks (20 days) of putting in the offer. And we would have closed earlier had the house we were moving into been de-staged for our move! Swift and accurate was the name of the game throughout this easy and almost fully automated process!

in 2011 I when I was looking for a home and I looked to Homestreet Bank for my mortgage loan because of how the Queen Anne Branch took care of senior in my family. I connected with David and he was responsive, personally oversaw my application process and attention to responding to my questions and guidance of choosing the home type for me at that time. We needed to obtain a HELOC for a vacation home. We initially worked with the a bank that is an affiliate of our investment manager. To our surprise, our HELOC was not approved. We then contacted HomeStreet Bank and referred to David Hatlen within the HomeStreet home loans team. From the first contact until we closed our HELOC with HomeStreet, David was very helpful. The house we currently live in is the first house the 2 of us have bought together. That was 27 years ago. David was recommended to us by our realtor, and because we trusted her, we reached out to David at Homestreet. We also met with my credit union, WSECU, to get their mortgage offer as well. I (Cindy) have now been with WSECU for over 35 years.
Once we met with David however, and gaining an understanding of the loyalty both David and Homestreet have with their clients, it was an easy decision. We have not regretted that choice once.

I love HomeStreet bank for everything they do in our neighborhood, the tellers and managers in the bank are friendly and authentic, my kids bank there for that reason. To also have an excellent experience applying and receiving a home loan, working with David and the other members of the loan team, is both no surprise but also very revealing. My appreciation for the whole HomeStreet organization is even higher. Other banks claim to be friendly, HomeStreet just really is.
