I first met Michael years ago while house hunting in Richmond. He knew the area very well, and took me to homes I couldn't find on zillow. He also gave me very detailed information about the homes and neighborhoods I was interested in, without asking. He was genuinely invested in helping me find the ideal home. Unfortunately, I had financing issues.
Fast forward to last week, two years after meeting Michael. This time I am looking in the Blacksburg area. We had a family friend reccomend a realtor so we went with them. It was not Michael and it was a nightmare. I could go on an exhaustively vulgar rant about the experience, but suffice it to say: I had paid for two unplanned nights in a hotel, lived 5 hours away, it was July 2nd, and I didn't know any realtors in the area that I could trust. So as I'm searching through zillow atrempting to find a new agent to take me to showings literally the same day (it was 1:30 AM) on the week of July 4th, I figured I may as well email Michael.
Before I woke up next morning, he was already finding me a local agent. Not just combing through an online list, Michael was calling buyers agents and interviewing them to see if they were people I could trust. The only other person I know who would do that is my mother, and that's if I got her something particularly nice for mothers day. Avoid the headaches, get someone you can trust, get someone who is genuinely interested in helping you. Call Michael.

Michael took the time to learn about why we wanted to purchase a home, and the parameters of our need as we began and continued the search. I found Michael to be honest and completely transparent. He seemed most interested in developing a relationship rather than making a sale. Michael was a pleasure to work with as we looked for and purchased our first home in Richmond. He listened carefully to what we were looking for and formulated a plan to visit a few areas that we might like. He was responsive with all our inquiries and needs. We appreciated his negotiating skills, as well. He has continued to be of assistance even after our purchase, which has been a tremendous help since we are new to the area. I would give Mr. Halloran the highest rating that you can give a realtor. He listened to all of our question and concerns that we had about buying a house. Mr. Halloran kept us updated as soon as he heard something on the houses that we put a contract on. He was welling to go the extra mile to make that we got a house no matter where the house located. I would recommend Michael for anyone trying to buy a house as well as sell it.

Michael Halloran is an excellent agent. In a fast moving market, he was quick to respond to our requests to see houses and quickly found answers to our questions about properties. We had many criteria for our new home and changed what we wanted several times as we refined our preferences. Michael rolled with all the changes and was on the lookout for properties that matched what we were looking for. He made the bidding process transparent for us. In the hot market, we put bids on several properties and he helped us with deciding what was reasonable and what probably wasn’t good value for the money. When we finally found our house, Michael was helpful in the inspection process straight through to signing final documents. We spent a lot of time with Michael and along with appreciating his expertise, he is just a nice guy to hang out with at the latest house that might be the one.
