My wife and I were not easy buyers to work with. We had no idea what we were doing, we lived across the country, and we were unsure of what and how much we should expect and could ask of our agents. As such, we began our house hunt with the first agent we were introduced to and, unfortunately and after several months, formed the impression that we were essentially being left to fend for ourselves. Not knowing whether this was normal, we started asking around and, when we spoke with a family friend that is in the real estate business, our first question was "What can we fairly expect from our agent?" The answer to that question was simple, "A lot." Looking back at our experience, Simone delivered on that expectation and made what had been a trying and stressful process into one that was fun and - critically given the market - successful.
Among the points that I would deem notable about our experience were Simone's honesty in giving us feedback about the neighborhoods and houses that we were looking at on the basis of photographs and Redfin data (both helpful, neither of which tell the whole story). She also took the time to learn about what we wanted and proactively suggested properties that may have escaped our attention or been passed over on the basis of factors having nothing to do with the house (e.g. poor staging, bad photographs, etc.).
Most significant, however, was her help in getting us from the offer through closing. To say that we had a "difficult" time with both our lender and the escrow company would be an understatement. A better description might be that both seemed to be "actively trying to frustrate and delay the sale." Absent Simone's shepherding of both to make sure the deal was done, I am less than certain that we would now be in our perfect house.
Thank you, Simone!
