As a first time home buyer, I was not only nervous and anxious, but also completely unaware of how the home buying process went. I hesitated for a few months because I had many fears and questions about where to start, how to start and what to even do leading up to purchasing your first home. During my time of hesitancy, Meredith remained patient and helped answer all of my questions and alleviate any fears I had about taking the right steps to becoming a homeowner. I never once felt pressured or rushed by Meredith throughout the process because she wanted to make sure I was 100% ready before taking the next step. After deciding I was ready to purchase my first home, Meredith did an awesome job of listening to me and helping me decide on what I wanted and where I wanted it...all while being mindful of the budget we discussed. The part that no one really prepares you for during a house hunt is how you will see some of these places and instantly become attached to them or how you very well could 'fall in love with a house' after only being in it for less than 30 minutes. My 'first heartbreak' in the process came when I put an offer in on a house that I 'fell in love with' and my offer was rejected. It's so easy to feel defeated after rejection; however, Meredith helped remind me each and every time that if something didn't work out, it's for a reason, and that something 1000 times better will come along and be the perfect fit for me...and boy, was she right after all!!! I was hopeful that the 'right house' for me would come along but started to slowly lose hope as I wasn't seeing anything new pop up on the market that I was falling in love with and swooning over. However, little did I know that Meredith was busy working on her end by sending letters to homeowners of particular neighborhoods she knew I had fallen in love with in hopes of something becoming available soon enough! She was determined to not only get me my perfect home but also determined to make sure it was in the perfect location that I was already sold on. We received a few responses from potential sellers but nothing that seemed too promising at the time. I decided to take a break from looking at houses because it was the week of my birthday and I was going out of the country on vacation. It was the day of my birthday (the day before I was leaving to go to Punta Cana) and I received a call from Meredith saying that a house in one of my favorite neighborhoods was about to be listed and if I wanted to go check it out. She sent me the listing and I immediately fell in love with this house. I went and looked at the house and fell even more in love with it, BUT I also told myself that I wasn't going to get my hopes up this time and to just go with the flow. We put an offer in that day and Meredith told me to not worry about it and to go have fun on my birthday trip. Fast forward three days later, I received the best birthday news yet and found out my offer had been accepted and that we were officially under contract!!! I immediately panicked because I realized I was out of the country with limited cell phone service and a global pandemic had just been declared...talk about a whirlwind of a week. After attempting numerous phone calls and text messages and not being able to reach me, Meredith was finally able to get a hold of my parents (whom I had left in charge of making any house decisions for me while I was gone for this very exact reason) who gave her the okay to proceed. I can't even begin to say how thankful I am that Meredith once again went above and beyond her job as my realtor by getting in contact with my parents because she knew I was unable to respond right away. She knew I had fallen in love with this place and she was determined to not let one little mishap get in the way of me and my first dream home. Meredith helped make the process after going under contract to closing day such a breeze. She was always available and happy to answer any questions I had and helped explain every step along the way. She helped me make decisions and offer great input and advice when it came to things I was unsure or hesitant about up until closing day...and she still continues to help me even after closing! As a nurse, I have a crazy work schedule that requires me working odd hours and days throughout the week. Meredith offered to help get things setup in my new home and even went out of her way to go pickup my parking sticker and welcome package from the HOA office while I was at work the day after closing. She was mindful of my schedule and hours throughout the process and very helpful in accommodating my schedule. Meredith did every thing she could do to help ease the stress as much as possible with purchasing a home during a global pandemic. From texting me randomly to make sure that I am doing okay physically and mentally while working the frontlines during COVID to helping me decide on what paint color and decor to pick out for my new home, she has been an amazing support throughout this process! I am so thankful for Meredith's passion, positivity, enthusiasm and drive to give her clients everything they could have imagined for and more! Thank you for helping and partaking in such a huge milestone and achievement in my life and keep up the great work. You are amazing at what you do!
