He is very reliable, trustworthy, fast and efficient, knowledgeable, capable of fulfilling his promises, and on top of that he is a very pleasant and approachable person. When we first listed our home it was September, late in the real estate market season, and the stock market had just tanked. Turnout was minimal and interest Thousand Oaks had flattened. But Gary was intrepid and held five open houses for us. So we decided to take the house off the market until it picked up again in late winter. We moved away in November, leaving the house empty. During that period, Gary said this to us: "If you give me $10,000 to work with, I guarantee you that you will get 20 to 30,000 dollars more in selling price. Working with us by phone, Gary had the floors replaced, the walls painted, and our tile counters replaced with quartz. In addition, he recommended that we have the house staged. He knew what he was talking about. In March he held two open houses on one weekend. Two days later we received six bids, all above asking price. We sold the house for $65,000 above the listing price. And since the buyer was also Gary's client, we paid a discounted commission. This saved us $27,000 compared to a full 6 percent commission broker. Gary is a soft-sell, ethical, and easy to deal with person. If we were looking to sell another home in San Jose, we would not even consider another real estate broker/agent.
