If I could give more stars I would. We adore Kumi! My husband and I are late blooming, first time home buyers. Living in Hayward and were looking for an affordable place with good schools. We met with Kumi, told him our needs and showed him a couple of places we were interested in looking at all over the bay area (literally everywhere!). Kumi helped us narrow our circle of homes down to a few specific towns, keeping our needs in mind and we went on the hunt. We looked at a few homes but when we walked into our new home (we just bought) for a viewing in Brentwood, he told us our whole demeanor changed. He noticed we looked relaxed and comfortable in that home compared to other homes we had previously viewed. We didn't really think about it but after discussing my husband and I agreed, that was a perfect home for us (We might have lost out on that house if anyone else was our realtor, Kumi was paying attention to our body language). Later that night we were told an offer was going in the next morning and since that home seemed to be the right fit, asked if we wanted to make an offer as well. We pulled the plug and made the offer and it was accepted. Kumi helped guide us the whole way, answered any questions we had (we had a LOT of questions being newbies). He has an enthusiastic personality and has so much knowledge of the bay area and the housing market. Like I said, we went to Brentwood for our home and he knew a lot about the neighborhoods and the areas even out that way! He definitely went the distance for us and I know he will for you too! Kumi, pulled off a miracle for me. I was in between a rock and a hard place to find a home that had a lot of requirements at an affordable price. He found me a dream home and pulled off a near impossible feat. On my list of wants he found a home that had all of them and more. He's very astute and intelligent. As a Stanford grad in psychology, you'd expect that. I met him by chance and so glad we worked together to buy my dream home. The reason for the 4 stars in process expertise. Kumi is an excellent realtor. We recently worked with him to buy a home in Oakland and he walked us through every step of the process. He took the time to really learn what we cared most about and his questions helped us think through priorities we hadn't initially considered. His genuine care and friendly demeanor made the many weekends of house hunting a true pleasure. In addition, we came to rely on his knowledge of homes and construction to help identify potential problems with properties (something we knew little about).
Kumi is extremely dependable and has great follow-through. He goes the extra mile and it's always clear that he's your champion. He was always very understanding about the fact that we were bringing a one-year old around with us and could only look at houses between nap times. :)

We met Kumi through the Hinds Realty Group on Facebook. We were having a hard time with our current realtor. He was a great listener and put our interests first. Our goal was to find a home with a big backyard in a good neighborhood and he made the process very easy. Once we found the house we liked, Kumi was an expert at negotiating; we wrote 1 offer and got the house first try! He made the contracts easy to read and found our inspectors so we didn't have to worry about a thing. He connected us with the best lender and our down payment and closing costs were less than $4000.
