It doesn't get any better than Kirk Maynard when it comes to Alaska real estate. If you're buying property in Fairbanks, Alaska, and debating which realtor to trust, save yourself the time, skip the analysis paralysis, and call Kirk.
Why does Kirk deserve such a glowing review? It's simple. Kirk has an uncanny ability to make what can be a stressful and complicated process feel remarkably straightforward. You might think President Donald Trump has mastered the art of negotiating deals, but after working with Kirk, I'm convinced the President ought to recruit him to negotiate the purchase of Greenland. If anyone could get Denmark to say “yes” while simultaneously convincing Greenland that it got the better end of the deal, it'd probably be Kirk. At a minimum, he'd have the paperwork signed before lunch.
Heck, if Canada ever becomes the 51st state, Kirk would probably have a surveyed easement from the great state of Texas to Fairbanks drawn up before Congress finished debating it. Knowing Kirk, he'd negotiate the mineral rights along the way and carve out a direct path from the Lower 48 to Alaska so we could finally drive to our new property without having to fly over the newest state in the Union.
Over the course of our property purchase, I dealt with Kirk through every stage of the transaction. Most of the process went exactly as you'd hope, but anyone who's ever bought real estate knows there's always one curveball lurking around the corner. Whether it was a last-minute question, an unexpected hurdle, or simply needing honest guidance, Kirk was always there. He answered his phone at all hours of the night, communicated clearly, and kept everything moving forward without unnecessary drama. In today's world, finding someone who actually answers the phone is almost as rare as finding a mosquito in Fairbanks that minds its own business.
What impressed me most wasn't just Kirk's knowledge of the Fairbanks market - it was his commitment to customer service while working with buyers located more than 4,000 miles away. Distance never became an excuse. Kirk handled every situation with professionalism, integrity, and a calm demeanor that gave us confidence from start to finish.
As a military veteran, I appreciate people who are organized, accountable, and follow through on what they say they're going to do. Kirk checks every one of those boxes. If more professionals conducted business the way he does, buying and selling real estate would be far less stressful.

As a seller I called realtor Kirk Maynard because he knows Fairbanks and cabin properties. He came out the very next day to take a look at my cabins. He explained the process and was prompt in answering my many questions through text and emails. He seemed always available, even on evenings and weekends. He was there for me . My wife and I have been working with Kirk and Lisa for a couple years. We had some pretty specific criteria but were not in a rush to buy so we took our time and monitored the listings for a couple years. Over this time, Kirk would periodically check in with us, but was not pushy about it at all. When we saw a potential house Kirk was always responsive and would arrange a showing quickly. Kirk did a few market valuations for us throughout this time to help us decide if and what to offer. They were all very accurate and close to the ultimate sale price of the properties. He understands the current market trends well. Once we began the purchase process on our house, he helped us prepare a competitive offer. We consider ourselves lucky that Kirk and Jerry, NextHome Arctic Sun, agreed to work with us when we were tasked with the job of selling our father’s hunting and fishing lodge after he passed.
