It is nearly impossible to write a short review for Karen Nelson and adequately express the level of professionalism and expertise she brought to our condo purchase in Mammoth Lakes, CA. Not only did she patiently and willingly spend many hours over several months showing us properties around town, she listened to our wish list and honestly injected reality when we needed to be set straight. She helped direct us to qualified properties and understand the local market, using her 30+ years of experience in Mammoth. Because of her many years here, she knew most of the selling agents, so was able to get us quick, helpful answers during our search. During difficult negotiations over our chosen property, she held the line for us with the sellers' agent. Once we were in escrow, she didn't slack off, either. There were very challenging questions about the HOA and inspection items and she did not shy away from asking tough questions, even though the sale (and her commission) were at stake. She made sure we were thoroughly informed on every issue, especially the serious ones that could have cost her a sale. Possibly as a result of her leadership roles over many years on regional and CA state real estate boards, she is the most ethical agent we have ever used in 20+ years of buying and selling real estate all over the United States. After we closed, she has continued to give us benefit of her knowledge of the area through honest advice and guidance. I would not hesitate to use her again... although because of her we were able to purchase our absolute dream property-- so we don't plan on selling any time soon! If you are looking for an ethical agent who will guide you with honesty, expertise and professionalism before during and after the sale, Karen is the only choice.
