I'm Derek Werenka, a Realtor and broker with simpliHOM in Ferndale, Michigan. I've been doing this for 24 years, which means I've seen every market cycle, every interest rate swing, and every version of the conversation people have with themselves before they decide to buy or sell. What hasn't changed in any of those years is what I actually care about: helping people get into homes and build wealth through real estate, especially people who've been told the door isn't open for them.

Metro Detroit is my market and my home. I know this region the way you only can after two decades of walking its streets and watching its neighborhoods evolve. That's not a sales line. They get someone who knows what's actually happening here.

I run my business from an abundance mindset, which means I'm not competing with everyone and hoarding information to protect my edge. I believe that when agents serve their clients well and operate with integrity, there's plenty of success to go around. That's not a talking point. It's a value I act on.
