When I decided to begin the process of finding a home in Raleigh, a city I didn’t know well, the thought of needing to find a realtor wasn’t one of excitement, but rather just the opposite.
After all, I wanted to find a realtor with the personal and professional attributes I wanted. And needed. In short, a realtor who was committed to finding a home that was truly best for me versus a home that was in the realtor’s best interest to sell.
I understood that this home-finding process could take some time, with perhaps a few bumps in the road along the way. Which is why my list of “must-haves” in a realtor included the following: Effective/efficient work ethic; Superb listener; Proactive and responsive; Punctual and organized; Detail oriented; Provides responsible, trustworthy guidance.
In a perfect world, every realtor would be all of those things. But did such a realtor exist in the real world?
Happily, yes. Her name is Beth Smoot.

I highly recommend Marcella. She went far above and beyond, working with me for over a year through my changing budget and changing goals and preferences to find the perfect home! Brian or Marcella were always available to show a property over a 9 month period and never pushed and were always helpful. When we finally found something that checked all the boxes, Marcella advised on the offer, due diligence and earnest money. We followed her lead and we got the house.

Marcella and Beth were awesome to work with for our house sale and purchase. They were extremely knowledgeable about the housing market and had great suggestions for the successful marketing of our home. They were also very knowledgeable about the new construction process for the home we purchased. Although we had some very tight schedule timelines, they helped us to remain calm and focused and always responded timely to our calls/texts. And Bryan was a godsend with his truck to help us remove items for donation or disposal.
