She is responsive to texts, calls, and emails, and knows what to look for in a house. When I decided to sell my house she gave me the push I needed to get it ready and bring in the best possible offers. She was able to tune into my needs as I was going through a downsizing phase and help me find a new, smaller place after I sold the home I was in. One of the most amazing things about Marney is the network of professionals that she is connected to. She responded immediately to any question we had. She sent us homes to look at, she thought we would be interested in based on our wants. Being out of town if we saw a house Marney would go and look at the house and give us her input. When we were actually looking at houses, Marney was so thorough in examining the little things that we would have overlooked. We could tell she was very professional and very knowledgeable. Marney did a phenomenal job selling our house. She guided us through the process and gave us suggestions for putting it on the market. Ultimately we had 5 offers the first weekend! Marney really knew her stuff. She was knowledgeable and helpful on all aspects of my house buying process. She knew the neighborhood and the market. She was there to do the bidding and helped me know how high to go, increasing the bidding by a set amt to our predetermined limit to win the house. She was there when the engineer walked through with me. Marney went out of her way to make things easy for me. She was so approachable and responsive. Any question I thought of, I texted her and got an answer. She made everything clear to me and pointed out both assets and flaws in my house before the buy. She was cheerful and encouraging. She handled the hand off wonderfully and I always knew she was on my side. Marney covered all the bases, and was always there when I needed her. Marney Horvath went above and beyond as I purchased my house in Rochester. Living in New Jersey, I didn’t have the connections for lawyers and contractors- Marney set me up with a lawyer, inspector, plumber, electrician, even carpet cleaners! She worked with my crazy schedule to make sure everything was perfect.

My husband and I have made multiple house purchases over the years and one of the things we’ve learned is a good real-estate agent is worth their weight in gold. This real-estate market has been a ridiculous one to put offers in on. We bid on two houses prior to this one and each time Marney patiently walked us through the process and let us know tactfully how confident she was (or wasn’t) in our offer. In the meantime we’re hearing stories from friends
of getting offers rejected the 10th, 15th or 20th time. We strategized on the house we bought and managed a winning bid. We overcame issues of being overseas for the closing date, being on an opposite time schedule based on the time zone and managed to close on the house.
Normally this would be where your interaction with a real-estate agent might end. But Marney has been helping us out with setting up people to look at the basement so we can finish it, (spending her own time setting people up and walking them through the house). She also came in to the house and found the electric company hadn’t turned on the power like they were supposed to and found 5” of water in the basement (this could’ve been such a nightmare). But she called in all sorts of people to our aid and even spent hours in our basement shop-vacuuming out the water with her husband.
She did all this for strangers. You don’t meet people like this often anymore. If there is one real estate agent I can recommend without a second thought it’s Marney. Hire her now or just go with the second best.
