***ATTACHED SCAM RECIEPT SENT BY ANN BASSETT****
In March 2023 I signed a one-month contract with REMAX Realtor in Somers NY, utilizing their real estate agent Ms. Ann Bassett to list and provide a renter for my property in Carmel NY.
I live in Florida and trusted Ms. Bassett would conduct business in a professional and ethical manner, however three months later I found out how wrong I was.
Ms. Ann Bassett and her broker Mr. John Piazza scammed me out of several thousands of dollars. They held my property on the MLS without my written consent for three months and never brought anyone to view or rent the home.
Ms. Bassett called me frequently complaining about the condition of the house and asking me to have her contractor and landscaper do work to improve the condition of the property, after I paid for all the services, I made a trip to New York to find out NONE of the work I paid for was ever done and I had to hire other contractors to do the job.
After confronting Ms. Bassett on her deceitful and unethical behavior and demanding she removed my listing and return my keys, she refused. She instead informed me she would MAIL my keys to my home in Florida and will continue to keep the listing active on her website, even though she had no keys to show the property. OUTRAGES. I now had to pay a lock smith to change the locks.
I tried to rectify the situation with Ms. Bassett broker Mr. Piazza, but my words fell on deaf ears, and he blocked my calls and refused to answer my emails. I wrote him my finial email, letting him know I would be at his office on May 30, 2023, to pick up my keys and have the listing remove, however when I arrived at his office he was nowhere to be found. SNAKE……
As of today, REMAX Somer NY still holds the listing on my house and the house can not be shown. I am unable to give it to another real estate agent until REMAX release it from their possession. My plan is to report this situation to the NYS Division of Licensing Services and bring suit to all parties involved.
Save your self many months of aggravation as well as thousands of dollars in loss income, time, and aggravation.
